Exploring the future of SEND at Bett HQ!
)
This year, we proudly introduced the SEND Village and SEND Theatre, brand-new spaces dedicated to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Born from our community’s feedback and fuelled by our mission to champion better education globally, these spaces empower educators, solution providers and leaders to explore truly accessible learning.
But we didn’t stop there…
Last week, we brought the SEND community together for an exclusive afternoon at Bett HQ. 85+ educators and EdTech professionals joined us for a day of shared insights, inclusive innovation and meaningful conversation, all centred on making education better for learners with additional needs.
During the event, tech experts, teachers and industry leaders gathered to attend talks on topics including; Does your school's digital strategy support every learner?, AI tech for good - a demonstration from UCL computer science students and a Q&A session led by teachers and experts.
The favourite session as fed back from attendees was Demystifying PDA: Practical strategies, and the benefits of technology panel. Experts from organisations like PDA Educator and SENsational Tutors explored effective methods, practical strategies and the benefits of technology in supporting those with Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA). The panel provided teachers with actionable insights for helping individuals with PDA.
Of course, no Bett event would be complete without connecting educators with the transformative technology shaping our classrooms. We were joined by the brilliant minds at Crick Software, who showcased Clickable – a complete writing solution designed specifically for the primary classroom. Attendees also had the chance to experience cutting-edge VR demonstrations first-hand, thanks to Campus-XR and Meta, offering a glimpse into how immersive tech is breaking down barriers and redefining engagement for SEND learners.
“It was truly inspiring to see so many passionate educators and EdTech professionals come together to explore the future of SEND education. At the heart of every conversation was a shared commitment to finding real, practical solutions that make a genuine difference to students. We’re excited to see these important discussions continue at the SEND Village and Theatre at Bett UK 2026.” - Duncan Verry - Bett Portfolio Director
If you missed this event, don’t worry we’ll be continuing to create spaces for impactful conversations within the SEND community at Bett UK 2026. We’re proud to champion inclusive education and excited to continue to support the journey towards a better future for all learners.
Thank you everyone who attended and our speakers/EdTechs from Leo Academy Trust, University College of London, National Star Academy and EdTech expertise from SENsational Tutors, Campus-XR, Crick Software, Meta and so many more!
