NorthWest Study Tour Jan 2023

During 2022 LGfL and EdTech UK began working in partnership to develop communities of practice that provide peer-to-peer support for the effective use of technology for enhancing teaching and learning.

Following the success running the first phase of the EdTech Demonstrator Programme from April 2020 to March 2021, we have launched Hubs in the North West, West Midlands, East of England and within London. We are soon to be launching the Bucks EdTech Hub in early February 2023.

Visit: http://edtechhubs.lgfl.net/ to find out more details.

You can watch previous events from 2022 in our archive. Geography does not dictate membership or engagement in the Edtech Hubs programme; involvement within and across Hubs will develop fluidly and responsively as momentum builds.

The EdTech Hubs Central Resources are based around the following themes: EdTech & Assessment; Consolidating on the gains made during remote learning; Communication and the wider school community; Supporting inclusive practice; Managing change effectively, supporting school vision and ethos, The key role of SLT, Developing skills for the future and the power of communities of practice.

Highfurlong Study Tour, EdTech supports their school ethos and School Development Plan

We have a blend of online and in person events for school leaders, teachers, and IT technicians to attend. The in-person study tours allow school staff to see technology being used in classrooms and could speak to staff and pupils about its use.

New Study Tour events (in person, in schools) explore both curriculum and wider organisational efficient and effective use of technology.

Robyn Bruce, Headteacher at Cubitt Town Primary, states, “For our children we need know this is the future, so I think Covid, as awful as that was, opened the road for that [introducing more technology use by pupils during lessons] and it would be awful if we stopped that now, because we can see the impact, especially for the children from deprived areas!”\
