Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance is the UK's only conservatoire offering courses in both music and contemporary dance. Based close to the ExCel in Greenwich, we reached out to them to help with our lunchtime wellbeing sessions, a new Bett feature designed to provide a place to relax at the heart of Bett. They put us in touch with The Horizon Quartet, formed in 2022 by violinists Sophia Jackson, Isaac Williams, violist Imogen Lim and cellist Katie Harrison, all of whom are currently undergraduates. As individual players, they hold seats as section principals in college ensembles and regularly take part in masterclasses and workshops. As a quartet, they have been tutored by acclaimed artists Michael Bochmann and Sally Pendlebury and have also had opportunities to take part in chamber music masterclasses with players including Eoin Schmidt of the Carducci Quartet. Especially for Bett, they will perform music from composers Beethoven (op.18 no.4 movement 2), Haydn (op. 9 quartet), Mozart quartet no. 4 K.157), Faure (Pavane), Pachelbel (Canon in D), Elgar (Chanson de Matin), Mozart (Eine Kleine Nachtmusik), Bizet (Habanera from Carmen), Delibes (Flower Duet from Lakme), and Hisaishi (Howl's Moving Castle theme).
