The 'student voice' is so vitally important in school and in this session four fantastic Year 6 pupils form Lanchester EP Primary School (Co.Durham) join their teacher (Martin Bailey ' Digital Enrichment Leader) to share their favourite software and resources and how they have helped to shape the Computing curriculum at their school. As Digital Leaders they get the opportunity to attend events such as BETT and have a direct input into the purchases which the school makes. The pupils will focus on the Coding aspect of the Computing curriculum and will share their favourite physical and digital activities and will discuss how they have been empowered to have a direct input into what and how things are taught. See a clear 'progression in skills' as the pupils take you on a journey from Early Years to Year 6 and showcase what Coding looks throughout each stage of the school. The session will be jam-packed full of great ideas and 'quick wins' and there will be loads which any teacher can take back and use in their own school. Hearing direct from children is so incredibly powerful and the children of children of Lanchester EP will certainly leave you with a lot of food for thought as to how you can also empower the student voice, as well as to how best to embed Coding throughout your Primary Curriculum.
