The UK Department for Education SEND Review was published in March 2022 and sets out the government's proposals for a system that offers children and young people the opportunity to thrive, with access to the right support, in the right place, and at the right time, so they can fulfil their potential and lead happy, healthy and productive adult lives. However, what do the SEND review proposals look like in practice within mainstream and specialist settings? And what role does the increasing use of technology in education play? This session gathers voices from National Star College, a specialist college for disabled students aged 16-25 years old, and Heart of Worcestershire College, a mainstream Further Education college, to discuss the impact of the SEND review within each of their settings and how they've been working together to merge assistive and digital technologies for personalised learning. Discover how collaboration and sharing of best practices between mainstream and specialist settings can help ensure inclusive and enriching learning experiences for all students.
