Since March 2021, thousands of testimonies from children of peer-on-peer sexual harassment and sexual abuse have been posted on the 'Everyone's Invited' website. Many of these testimonies are linked to schools, colleges and universities. How online sexual harassment affects a child is unique. Indeed, in June 2021, Ofsted concluded some shocking statistics surrounding the extent of sexual harassment on and offline in schools. In this session UK Safer Internet partners Childnet and SWGfL together with tes will discuss key factors and what support is available for both primary and secondary schools, sharing also concerns raised by educators to the Professionals Online Safety Helpline.
Speakers
David Wright, Director UK Safer Internet Centre - SWGfL
