Impactful tutoring programmes for vulnerable children

Led by the Strategic Director, the presentation will focus on the impact of 1-1 tutoring intervention programme that improved the educational outcomes of Children in Care, in schools across the West Midlands during the pandemic. They will discuss how the programme had a strict design on assessments, digital delivery, strong relationship with lead tutor and young person, SEMH training, methodology and delivery, to ensure that the tutoring was enabling vulnerable students to attain higher even when schools were closed. The final part will focus on next steps, alongside their partnership with Australian colleagues in implementing the programme (TILP) to improve literacy educational outcomes of Children in Care in schools and young people in custody across Victoria.
