Who am I? 

Vlad Techsky
Head of Digital Strategy
George Washington Schools Group, USA 

I’m the lead authority in my school district for all IT and digital needs and I am an active member of the senior leadership team. I have a sole or joint responsibility on purchasing and making decisions for IT products. I’m part of the decisional power or influential in the digital strategy for my schools group.

What are my current challenges?

  • Evolving beyond ‘one size fits all’ solutions towards customised, setting-specific infrastructure whilst ensuring seamless integration and cross-site functionality
     
  • Utilising newly-acquired devices and building a long-term strategy for the investment and deployment of devices for all teachers and students to optimise teaching and learning
     
  • Managing an institution’s key commercial stakeholders during a time of disruption
     
  • Working with restricted budgets and resources
     
  • Managing potential risks around data protection, cybersecurity, GDPR and privacy
     
  • Providing a good student experience in terms of academic quality, standards and resources

  • By keeping me up to date on the latest thinking on pedagogy, EdTech and education policy nationally and internationally
     
  • By giving me a chance to review new products and features from suppliers, assessing their suitability for my institution’s EdTech provision within the constraints of existing budgets
