Tim was a highly successful Head for 18 years, firstly of a “good” grammar school which he led to “outstanding” in all areas and latterly of a failing inner-city academy which he “transformed” (Ofsted, 2017). He now specializes in leadership development and school improvement, running professional development training in schools throughout the UK and abroad. He has recently published four school improvement reports which have tackled various issues including the recruitment and retention of teachers, cost effective strategies to improve attendance, behaviour and standards, and SEND. He is a Senior Fellow at Policy Exchange and was granted the Freedom of the City of London.
