Professor Thierry Geoffre - University of Luxembourg

Professor Thierry Geoffre

Associate Professor, University of Luxembourg
Luxembourg

Thierry Geoffre is a professor of teaching and learning French in pre- and primary education at the University of Luxembourg. His work focuses on language education, human-centered AI, and inclusive education, combining 15 years of primary classroom experience with interdisciplinary research.

He is dedicated to designing, validating and scaling adaptive learning and adaptive scaffolding systems that act as intelligent assistants to teachers and learners, making personalised literacy instruction a scalable reality for every student. These digital intelligent ecosystems integrate real-time analytics and formative feedback to respond dynamically to learners' cognitive and linguistic states. This ensures that students with dyslexia, multilingual backgrounds or advanced learning needs are optimally supported and promotes inclusive education.

These game-based environments simultaneously provide teachers with actionable insights to cultivate deeper learning in spelling, grammar, reading comprehension and mathematical reasoning.

His recent research, presented at the EuroCALL, LAK and AIED conferences, advances a new paradigm in learning analytics and human-AI collaboration, shifting the focus from outcome-based to process-oriented assessment while empowering, rather than replacing, the expertise of teachers. He contributes to international initiatives with ASEF (the Asia-Europe Foundation) and ASEM (the Asia-Europe Meeting), focusing on innovation in multilingual and inclusive education systems.
