Sungwook Kim is an experienced education professional, currently serving as a Supervisor at the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education (SMOE). He believes that education is the best social welfare policy, and actively seeks interdisciplinary communication across public sectors to address educational challenges. Dr Kim’s core professional and research interests span Learning Science, Instructional Design, Educational Policy, and Public Administration. He holds a PhD in Educational Technology from Seoul National University (2016), where his doctoral research focused on developing instructional design models for mobile inquiry-based learning. He also earned a Master’s degree in Social Studies Education, and a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Seoul National University of Education. Currently, he is pursuing an MA in Public Administration at Seoul National University. Dr Kim’s career includes over 14 years as an elementary school teacher, followed by roles as an Education Researcher at the Seoul Education Research and Information Institute, and a Visiting Researcher at Seoul National University. He has been honoured with multiple awards, including the Minister of Education’s Citation for his contributions to e-learning, and the Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award from the Korean Society for Educational Technology. Dr Kim aims to explore optimal learning methods, and redesign the Korean education system to foster mutual respect and excellence for all students.
