Özdemir, the founder of Informatics Garage, a company established in 2012 with the slogan "From Download Society to Upload Society" to provide Technology Education for New Generations, has garnered several national awards for this initiative. After successfully exiting this R&D company in 2021, Özdemir has dedicated the past two years to the IOTfyEdu project. This innovative endeavour aims to bridge the gap between distance learning and traditional classroom education, potentially revolutionising education worldwide. IOTfyEdu transforms any space into a smart science laboratory environment, utilising real materials for K-12 students and teachers. Dr Özdemir is married and has two daughters.
