Renato Feder
Renato Feder, a São Paulo native, holds a master’s degree in Economics from the University of São Paulo (USP), and a bachelor’s degree in Administration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV). Since 2023, he has led the São Paulo State Department of Education, modernising the system with technology and results-driven management, benefiting over 3 million students in 5,000 schools. Under his leadership, class hours for Mathematics and Portuguese increased by 70% and 60%, respectively, and new subjects such as financial education, programming, entrepreneurship, and leadership were introduced. He implemented AI-powered platforms for writing and homework, expanded vocational education to 100,000 students, and launched Provão Paulista, offering 15,000 university places. His Multiplica Programme has trained 30,000 teachers and 3,000 principals.
Previously, as Secretary of Education in Paraná (2019–2022), he led the state to first place in Brazil’s Ideb ranking for High School and pioneered an acclaimed distance learning system during the pandemic. Feder has taught at all levels, including Economics at Mackenzie University, and studied education systems worldwide. As a former CEO of a major technology company, he managed over 6,000 employees and positioned the firm as a leader in Brazil’s tech sector.
