Rebecca Allyn leads business development for the AWS Global Higher Education team where she is responsible for leading strategy and initiatives for higher education across EMEA, APJ, LATAM, and the UK. In her five years at AWS she has focused on education and workforce development, partnering with state government and education institutions to prepare students around the world to pursue in-demand cloud roles. Prior to joining AWS in 2018, she led corporate upskilling efforts at General Assembly, working with clients including Walmart, Exxon-Mobil, L'Oreal, and the United States Air Force to transform their workforce with intensive training, assessments, and hiring pipelines. Prior to that she spent over ten years at The Advisory Board and Education Advisory Board (EAB), culminating in the launch of the EAB student success collaborative, focused on helping community colleges close achievement gaps and improve student outcomes. Rebecca graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in politics and Johns Hopkins with an MA in Economics/International Relations and has lived and worked in Italy, South Africa, France, and the US.
