Pia Rebello Britto
Pia Rebello Britto is the Global Director of Education and Adolescent Development at UNICEF, appointed in August 2024. She provides strategic leadership for UNICEF’s global education and adolescent development agenda, guiding policies and programmes that advance learning for all children. Previously, she served as UNICEF Representative in Lao PDR, and as UNICEF’s Global Chief of Early Childhood Development. Before joining UNICEF, she was an Assistant Professor at Yale University, and holds a PhD in Developmental Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University. A leading expert with over 100 publications, she is widely recognised for her contributions to child development. She is a US national, and fluent in English and Hindi.
