Senior Consultant for EdTech at EDT, Peter has 30 years' experience in education, developing effective technology-enhanced learning and the use of technology across the curriculum (including Computing) both in the UK and other contexts. He currently specialises in providing edtech and digital literacy and skills support to programmes in UK and internationally. Prior to his current role, Peter was the teaching and learning consultant at the UK's London Connected Learning Centre (BETT award winning Digital Learning Centre of Excellence), working across all levels of education from EYFS to post-16. This included authoring courses, materials, blogs and creative curriculum-focussed resources for teachers, and delivering the multi-faceted CLC programmes in London and beyond. Combining this with recent hands-on experience in the classroom with workshops for all ages as well as delivering teacher CPD in many forms has given Peter wide ranging insights into 'extraordinary learning with and about technology'. Peter has engaged successfully with education stakeholders at all levels - parents, school and community, LA up to Ministry of Education - to design and implement effective strategies and programmes informed by his experience as a teacher and practitioner alongside subject expertise. He is an accredited assessor/teacher expert and facilitator for several national/international schemes that focus on quality. As lead co-ordinator for a multi-partner Erasmus+ project on blended learning pedagogy in 5 European municipalities and associated schools, as well as member of the CLC team in the Erasmus+ Co-Make early years project and the earlier Empower2Learn project Peter has presented in several previous BETT talks alongside colleagues past and present.
