With over thirty-four years' experience within the education market as a teacher and working in a variety of roles for technology providers and exam awarding bodies, Matt has built-up significant understanding of the issues relating to the use of technology enabled assessment within education and how its use can be used to maximise benefit to students, educators and educational organisations. Matt is a founding member of the eAssessment Association, a professional membership body that supports and promotes the use of all forms of technology enabled assessment across all phases and sectors of education world-wide. Matt joined the association's governance board in 2010, becoming its Chair in 2012, a position he held until being appointed interim CEO in 2021. He is also a member of JISC's Higher Education Edtech Advisory Board, JISC's Assessment and Feedback Working Group and of the Music Education Advisory Committee for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM).
