Maizie has been working at National Star for three years and has a passion to ensure all students have access to technology and finding a solution which best suits the individual. She is a newly qualified Assistive Technologist, having just finished her Master’s Degree with the University of Dundee. She was amongst the second cohort of students to complete this course. Maizie has been pioneering the use of smart home technology within National Star, showcasing the potential impact it has on the students. She also leads on the Voice Project, which helps students with AAC devices find their own voice. Maizie’s work in these areas has featured in regional and national media.
