He worked as a teacher and middle leader at an inner city girls' school, taking a keen interest in edtech opportunities. As a curriculum leader for History Kev led the department to their best ever GCSE results and continually delivered outcomes above the national average. He took a keen interest in CPD, working with local universities to help train student teachers in technology in the classroom. He was made an associate leader with responsibility for CPD in 2016, and in 2018 was appointed as Assistant Principal for teaching and learning. During this period Kev shifted the culture of quality assurance in the school to become more developmental, introduced a research informed CPD programme and provided opportunities for teachers to engage in action research opportunities.
