Katy Leckenby is a Specialist Teacher at Ace Centre, with extensive experience supporting children and young people with complex communication needs. She specialises in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), assistive technology, and inclusive classroom practice. Katy is co-author of AAC and Aided Language in the Classroom and Assistive Technology in the Classroom for Learners with Complex Needs. 

She works collaboratively with schools, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop practical, sustainable communication approaches that enable learners to participate meaningfully in education. Katy is passionate about demystifying AAC and empowering classroom staff with the skills and confidence to become effective communication partners.
