Katie, a Kansas City native and daughter of community organisers, has worked in public education since 2008. A founding member of multiple initiatives, including Teach For America Kansas City and C.A. Franklin Middle School, she also founded Leanlab Education in 2013. Leanlab has led over 80 codesign research studies with clients like Newsela, Logitech, and McGraw Hill, and recently launched AGILE, a national network for rapid edtech R&D. Katie co-founded the Global Edtech Testbed Network and serves as a Reach Capital venture scout. She holds a BA in English Literature, an MEd in Middle School Education, and an EdS in Education Leadership. Splitting time between Kansas City and a farm near Lawrence, Kansas, Katie practices yoga and writes about community and edtech innovation on Substack.
