Katherine Harrison
Cellist,
Horizon Quartet (Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance)
United Kingdom
Buckinghamshire-born cellist Katie Harrison was awarded a scholarship to study the cello at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in 2022, under the guidance of Joely Koos. Previously a student at the Royal College of Music's Junior Department, Katie studied with Michal Kaznowski for three years. There she was a finalist in the 2022 Chamber Music Competition and was principal cellist of the Chamber Orchestra. Katie credits her love of orchestral music making to the Chiltern Music Academy, where she spent her final school years as principal cellist of the Symphony Orchestra and String Orchestra. More recently, Katie has taken part in projects with the Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra and as principal cellist of Trinity Laban's Sinfonia Strings. Alongside her studies, Katie enjoys improvising in more popular and folk-based styles with friends, and is memorising the London Underground map!
