Kari Nessa Nordtun was appointed Minister of Education, Norway on 16 October 2023. From 2019 to 2023, she served as Mayor of Stavanger and has many years of experience as an elected representative in her hometown. Minister Nordtun holds a law degree from the University of Bergen and has previously worked as a lawyer at Elden Advokatfirma.  

As Minister of Education, she is especially focused on strengthening public schools, giving all children equal opportunities, and encouraging a balanced use of technology in schools to support learning, consentration, and wellbeing.
