Julie Kapsalis
Julie Kapsalis is Principal & CEO at North East Surrey College of Technology (Nescot) in Surrey. Nescot supports around 7,000 learners each year and has recently opened a new Institute of Technology to focus on digital skills. The college teaches from entry level through to a masters degree. Julie is a member of the ‘AI in Education’ Strategy Group chaired by Sir Anthony Seldon.
Julie has worked in economic development for 20 years with a particular focus on enterprise, skills and social inclusion. Julie is a Board Member/Trustee of a number of organisations including Coast to Capital (Chair), Gatwick Diamond Business and the Aurora Academies Trust.
Julie served as an advisor to the UK Government's task force on women's enterprise and contributed to the Rose Review of Female Entrepreneurship. In 2024, Julie was proud to be named in the Social Mobility Commission’s State of the Nation Report for best practice around the college’s new programme of delivery in constructions skills working in partnership with Ringway. The programme is using AI and VR to support learning in the college’s immersive suite and vehicle simulators.
