Jonny Wathen is the CEO of TransforMATive, an education-focused digital transformation consultancy supporting school trusts to develop the strategy, capability and confidence needed to navigate an increasingly complex digital landscape. 

With a career spanning education, technology, leadership and organisational transformation, Jonny has worked as a teacher, senior education leader, Chief Information Officer and Data Protection Officer. This experience gives him a distinctive perspective on the relationship between technology, people, culture and organisational improvement. 

Through TransforMATive, Jonny works with multi-academy trusts and education partners across the UK, advising on digital strategy, Trust operating models, cyber security and privacy, data and insights, EdTech, artificial intelligence and wider transformation programmes. His work focuses on helping leaders move beyond technology implementation towards sustainable, organisation-wide change that delivers measurable value. 

Jonny holds an Executive MBA and is a Chartered Manager with the Chartered Management Institute. Alongside his executive work, he contributes to education governance as a Trustee of Waterton Academy Trust. 

He is particularly interested in system leadership, collaboration and the role of emerging technologies in creating more effective, connected and future-ready education organisations, while ensuring that transformation remains purposeful, ethical and focused on improving outcomes for schools and their communities.
