JoAnn Sproule, Training and Engagement Manager for the brand-new Gaming and Esports team at Ygam: a charity with a mission to safeguard every child and young person against gaming and gambling harms through awareness raising, education and research.

JoAnn is also a dedicated Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), specialising in promoting strategies to aid professionals in safeguarding our digital generation against emerging harms. With extensive experience in youth safeguarding from her previous careers as a Teacher and a Youth Worker, and through delivering innovative training programs and strategic interventions for these same professionals, JoAnn brings critical expertise to the panel. JoAnn also brings personal experience to the panel, as a long-time gaming and esports enthusiast, stemming back from her own experience as a childhood gamer. During the upcoming panel, JoAnn will share insights into developing robust online safety strategies, drawing from Ygam’s groundbreaking work in preventing gaming, gambling, and digital harms.
