Iain Brown joined Jisc as its Chief Security Architect in July 2024 after many years’ involvement in cyber security. He focuses on the design and delivery of Jisc’s security strategy, as part of efforts to protect UK education and research against a wide range of cyber security threats.  

Iain works to lead by example in all areas of cyber security to help foster and empower a resilient education sector. He brings to Jisc expertise in the application of intelligence to threat landscapes at a national and international level.  

Iain holds advanced degrees from the University of London (MA, MSc), and is a Member of the British Computer Society (MBCS) and the Chartered Institute of Information Security (CIISec).
