Henry Hughes is Jisc’s Chief Technology Officer – Security, responsible for protecting the digital infrastructures underpinning UK Research and Education. Jisc operates the Janet network, the National Research and Education Network (NREN) for the UK, providing connectivity to all Universities, Colleges, and Research organisations. The Janet network interconnects with 37 other NRENs across Europe. Internationally, Henry works with other NRENs and research organisations improving cyber security and resilience, and promoting better understanding of the wider threat landscape. He is co-chair of the GN5-2 security programme, part of the 7-year Horizon Europe strategic framework.
