Emma Mills has spent over 23 years transforming education in Manchester and Warrington. Now in her seventh year as Headteacher at Birchwood Community
High School and Director of Education for One Community Trust, she is a passionate advocate for wellbeing, mindfulness, and digital balance. A former Specialist Leader of Education, Emma pioneered the Disconnect 2 Reconnect campaign, founded the Warrington Online Safety Hub, and led Birchwood to become Warrington’s first phone-free school. A national voice for the Phone Free Education movement, she also serves as a Schools Ambassador for Smartphone Free Childhood and Director of The Brianna Ghey Legacy Project, inspiring communities to prioritise wellbeing, purpose, and human connection.
