Emily Konstantas
Emily is Chair of the British International Schools Safeguarding Coalition (BISSC) and Founder of The Safeguarding Alliance. A leading safeguarding and child protection specialist, she works internationally as an advisor, trainer, and school improvement partner across the UK, Europe, the United States, MENA, and ASEAN regions.
Emily holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Law and is currently working towards a PhD in International Child Protection Law. She is an advisor, governor and trustee to a number of organisations and schools and has extensive experience supporting schools with safeguarding improvement, organisational change, and preparation for ISI, Ofsted, and BSO inspections.
A regular keynote speaker and media commentator, Emily has appeared on the BBC and Sky News and contributed to numerous national publications. She has also provided evidence to the UK Parliament’s Education Select Committee and continues to campaign for improvements to safeguarding legislation. Most notably, Emily led the successful legal challenge that resulted in the introduction of Della’s Law, strengthening protections for children and vulnerable people.
Through BISSC, Emily works alongside leaders from across the international schools sector to strengthen safeguarding practice globally. Colin Bell, CEO of COBIS, is a founding member of BISSC and the International Taskforce on Child Protection (ITFCP).
