Dr Inge Volman
Dr Inge Volman is Business and Innovation Lead at NOLAI (National Education Lab AI), a Dutch nationally funded initiative bringing together schools, researchers, and EdTech companies to co-create, validate, and scale AI-powered educational technologies for K12 education.
NOLAI operates multi-year testbed programmes, from early prototyping through market-ready implementation. Inge's career bridges neuroscience, academia, and entrepreneurship. After completing her PhD in cognitive neuroscience, work as assistant professor and Marie Skłodowska-Curie research fellow, Inge chose to focus on knowledge translation and societal impact. She co-founded Social Shuffle, a social enterprise improving social safety in schools, gaining hands-on experience in scaling educational innovations. This dual perspective—academic researcher and entrepreneur—shapes her work at NOLAI, where she facilitates ecosystem development and addresses testbed challenges. Furthermore she navigates intellectual property complexities while balancing protection with open innovation to serve both market development and public educational values.
