Dr Husniza Husni is an Associate Professor at School of Computing, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). She is currently the Deputy Dean of Research and Innovation, Chair of Inkubator Disleksia and a research fellow at Human-Centered Computing Research Lab, UUM.  

She holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, majoring in Artificial Intelligence (with Honours) from Universiti Utara Malaysia in 2002 and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from The University of Western Australia in 2005. Later, she received her PhD (Information Technology) from Universiti Utara Malaysia in 2010.  

Dr Husni’s research areas include interaction design, human-computer interaction particularly serving the needs of children with dyslexia and other learning disabilities such as dyscalculia and dysgraphia. She is also an expert in artificial intelligence and speech recognition, and has a keen interest particularly in education, learning, and children.  

Dr Husni has authoured several books, among them are "Menyingkap Kebahagiaan Mendidik Anak Disleksia & Diskalkulia", "Masalah Pembacaan Kanak-Kanak Disleksia: Bagaimana Teknologi Boleh Membantu", and "Program Khas Integrasi Masalah Pembelajaran Spesifik Disleksia: Dunia Sains dan Teknologi", which won the Anugerah Buku Negara (Education) in 2014. She is currently an editorial board member of Journal of Information and Communication Technology (JICT) and Membership Chair of MyHCI-UX, the ACM SIGCHI Kuala Lumpur Chapter. She also serves as a reviewer for reputable journals such as Computers in Human Behaviour, Jurnal Teknologi, and Malaysian Journal of Learning and Instruction.
