Christie is an Associate Dean of Education and Student Experience and the Head of the Centre for Teaching Enhancement and Innovation at the University of Plymouth. 

With a strong commitment to enhancing learning and teaching, Christie leads initiatives that foster academic excellence and student success. Her work focuses on curriculum innovation, digital transformation, inclusive education, and creating engaging learning environments that empower students to thrive. 

She is currently leading a broad portfolio of work, including chairing the University's educational response to AI, leading a digital exams and assessment transformation project and launching online programmes. She is also a School Governor in the South West of England.
