Founder and CEO, Institute for Education Innovation
For nearly 20 years, Doug Roberts has worked to bridge the gap between school district leaders and EdTech entrepreneurs to cultivate mutually beneficial partnerships. Doug founded the Institute for Education Innovation (IEI) in 2018, a think tank committed to creating a safe space for constructive problem-solving and innovative thinking with district leaders and EdTech entrepreneurs who together are creating solutions to generate meaningful change in K-12 education. Today, IEI boasts 130+ district leader members and facilitates national and regional conferences throughout the United States. Doug also supports future education leaders through IEI:Lead, which helps aspiring K-12 leaders to develop professionally. Through IEI, Doug holds workshops to support and further the conversation on equity and inclusion in education and supporting women and people of colour to advance into leadership roles. Doug is also the founder of the Supes' Choice Awards, the only education industry awards judged exclusively by school district superintendents. Every EdTech product and solution is evaluated based on a commitment to student outcomes, innovation, ingenuity, client support, interactivity, and engagement. Doug is passionate about every child's right to a high-quality public education, equity, inclusion, his family, the Yankees, and connecting K-12 leaders to discuss big ideas for the future of learning.
