David Wright CBE is CEO of SWGfL and Director of the UK Safer Internet Centre, bringing over 20 years’ experience in online safety. Recognised in the 2024 King’s Birthday Honours for services to the safety of children and young people, he advises governments, international bodies and industry on digital safeguarding. He serves as an expert to the UN ITU and the Council of Europe and is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Coalition for Digital Safety. David has led the creation of key helplines, including the Revenge Porn Helpline, and oversaw the development of groundbreaking StopNCII.org. Through the UK Safer Internet Centre, he has also driven national work on filtering and monitoring standards to strengthen school safeguarding.
