Dr. Fonseca is Full Professor at La Salle Campus Barcelona, Ramon Llull University, where he carries out teaching and research in the fields of educational innovation, technology-enhanced learning, graphic representation, user experience and interactive digital environments. His career combines engineering, audiovisual communication and educational research, with a particular interest in the use of emerging technologies to improve teaching and learning processes. Currently, he is teacher and tutor in the School of Architecture (in representation subjects), Engineering (in design subjects), and also in the Business Faculty (in research subjects).

He has participated in and led national and international projects focused on STEAM methodologies, augmented reality, learning analytics, educational robotics and inclusion. In recent years, his research has focused especially on diversity support and the design of technological solutions that promote participation, communication and wellbeing among students with specific needs. He has directed eleven PhD thesis and currently is managing five more. Also, he is Autodesk Certified Instructor and responsible of the Scientific Writing Course of the La Salle PhD program.

One of his recent lines of work is DivInTech, a project that explores the use of social robotics to improve communication and social skills in ASD children.
