Claire Stewart is a dedicated education professional with a strong background in teaching and senior leadership, underpinned by post-graduate qualifications in educational leadership and management. Formerly a school leader, Special Educational Needs Coordinator, and Designated Safeguarding Lead, Claire brought her frontline experience to the Department for Education in 2019, shaping policy on technical education, apprenticeships, and employer engagement. Since 2022, Claire has been with Ofsted, driving forward work on children’s social care reform, inclusive education, Area SEND, and inspection improvement. Claire also serves as Vice-Chair of the Cross-Civil Service Working Through Cancer Network.
