Since the early 2000’s Claire has worked as a teacher and principal teacher for children and young people with complex learning needs in specialist provisions in London, Fife, Angus and Dundee. Since 2017 she has worked as an assistive technology & complex needs teacher at CALL (Communication, Access, Literacy and Learning) Scotland at the University of Edinburgh where her current role is an interim Director. CALL works across Scotland providing advice, assessment, information and training to help schools support learners with additional support needs to access learning and communication using assistive technologies. Claire has a particular interest in literacy for children and young people with complex needs and is currently co-authoring a book on the topic of writing.
