Dr. Cecilia Waismann is a psychologist and seasoned educator with extensive international experience across academia, public policy, and EdTech innovation. She currently serves as the VP R&D at MindCET EdTech Innovation Centre, an organization that brings together educators, researchers, students, and entrepreneurs to accelerate educational innovation. A leading expert on the impact of cutting-edge technologies and internet culture on how new generations learn and engage with education systems, Dr. Waismann has led MindCET’s research on learning sciences and emerging technologies since 2012.

She holds a PhD and MPhil in Psychology from the Institute of Psychiatry in London, an MSc in Social Psychology from the London School of Economics, and a BA in Psychology from the Pontificia Universidad Católica do Rio de Janeiro.

Dr. Waismann’s career spans over four decades and multiple countries. She dedicated many years to the clinical, research, and policy dimensions of mental health in England, Spain, and Brazil, including work with the Institute of Psychiatry and Maudsley Hospital in London, the Andalusia Health Services in Spain, and the Social Fund of the European Community. Since 1997, her focus has centered on education—from classroom teaching to senior leadership—holding positions such as Principal of Centro Ibn Gabirol in Madrid, pedagogical lead at Beit Hatfutsot in Tel Aviv, and lecturer at the School of Education at Tel Aviv University.

An international speaker at major global EdTech forums, Dr. Waismann has an extensive record of publications on mental health, education, peoplehood studies, and the influence of internet culture and new technologies on learning. She is also a long-time contributor to EdTech thought leadership as editor and writer for EdTech Mindset.

Born in Brazil, Dr. Waismann is fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Hebrew.
