France
After studying engineering, Audran Le Baron worked for 15+ years for the French tax administration where he led major IT projects. He also initiated major far-reaching digital transformations including a redesign of the French tax.gov website, the generalization of online procedures, the income tax withholding reform, the launch of the B2B e-invoicing generalization project, always putting the end user at the center of his concerns. Audran Le Baron has been the Director for Digital Education in the French ministry of education since mid-2021. He is in charge of both the development of digital education (how digital technology can improve teachers' teaching practices and students' learning) and of the national education information system (for the operation of major schooling and examination processes in particular). Within this framework, he is dedicated to organizing the improvement of teachers' digital skills (digital training and certification of teachers). He is keen on involving and supporting EdTech players in the development of innovative tools, particularly for the benefit of learning the fundamentals of maths and French and for language learning. He is also committed to developing digital commons for teachers to promote the sharing of their pedagogical productions, and to modernizing the information system and the collaboration tools for the ministry's 1.2 million employees.
