Croatia

Arjana Blazic is a teacher trainer and course designer, based in Zagreb, Croatia. She is a certified British Council teacher trainer in integrating ICT in the classroom. She is co-author of the Croatian National Curriculum for English as a Foreign Language and the National Curriculum for the Cross-curricular Use of ICT. Appointed by the Croatian Academic and Research Network (CARNET), she has led the expert group developing the Croatian AI Curriculum for primary and secondary schools, which is now being implemented across Croatia. She works as a senior adviser at European Schoolnet, where she contributes to projects that aim at scaling up innovative use of digital technologies, artificial intelligence and data in education.  

She is a member of the European Commission’s Expert group on Digital Education Content and the Working group for the Revision of Ethical guidelines on the use of AI and data for teaching and learning. She leads the AI Squad “Main drivers at the EU level for the effective adoption of AI in education” on the European Digital Education Hub (EDEH). She has contributed to the development of the EDEH squad’s publication on Explainable AI. She serves on the Advisory Board for Driving K-12 Innovation and on the Steering Group for the Digital Education Hackathon, an EIT initiative under the European Commission’s Digital Education Action Plan. She has designed and led numerous workshops for teachers about the pedagogical use of digital technologies and AI in education all over Europe.  She has co-hosted International Teachmeet at BETT since 2018.
