Alex is Managing Director of NSE (National Student Esports) which is the official body for university esports and the largest grassroots gaming community in the UK. Alex's experience stretches from running global YouTube channels for gaming content creator stars, overseeing the country's most active esports and gaming grassroots community, leading the world's largest commercial sports awards, to delivering sponsorship campaigns for global sporting events. NSE operates the British University Esports Championship and a wide range of non-competitive grassroots community programmes. NSE is proud to have attracted major partners such as Intel, Monster Energy, Barclays, Pringles, UNiDAYS, Riot Games, Epic Games, Nintendo, and many more. NSE Careers Boost is a new initiative built on the power of esports and gaming to elevate student's transferable skills, helping the talented NSE (majority STEM) community find fulfilling careers in a wide range of sectors. Alex recently led uTure, a global talent to show to find the next generation of YouTube gaming content creators; having previously spent seven years as MD of Sport Industry Group, the sport industry's leading B2B content, events, and networking business. Prior to joining Benchmark, Alex spent well over a decade agency-side, his previous position being Director, PR and Social Media at IMG Consulting; he has led award-winning communication and sponsorship campaigns in the UK and internationally for a range of clients from blue-chip brands, sponsors, events, international federations, host nations bidding for events and more. Alex regularly contributes to industry news, conferences, and is a sessional lecturer at the Institute of Sport Business, Loughborough University London. He also has a number of advisory and voluntary roles including a VR start-up and sitting on the NSPCC Sports Board.
