Prof Abbes Amira, Dean of the College of Computing and Informatics at the University of Sharjah, earned his Ph.D. from Queen’s University Belfast. He has held academic and leadership roles across the UK, France, Malaysia, and Qatar. With over 350 publications and substantial funding secured, he specializes in embedded systems, AI, IoT, and image processing. Prof Amira has supervised over 25 PhD students and received numerous awards, including the VARIAN prize and IET premium award. He actively contributes to IEEE conferences, serving in leadership roles and as a keynote speaker. A Fellow of IET and Senior member of IEEE and ACM, his research focuses on AI, high-performance computing, and connected health.
