Slovakia: The Digital Classroom of Europe
The Ministry of Education, Research, Development, and Youth of the Slovak Republic is spearheading a landmark digital transformation through the nationwide "DigiEDU" project. Funded by the European Union’s Recovery and Resilience Plan (NextGenerationEU), this initiative is turning educational opportunity into reality by systematically bridging the digital divide across the country.
Our mission ensures equal access to high-quality digital education for every student and teacher, regardless of their location. The project is built on three robust pillars: delivering over 140,000 modern laptops, tablets, and PCs; installing high-speed infrastructure with 7.8 million meters of LAN cabling and 41,000+ access points; and providing full software licensing for 98% of schools.
By empowering nearly one million users with advanced digital tools, Slovakia is setting a new European benchmark for systemic EdTech integration.
