Shakespeare is the only named writer on the curriculum, but many find their experiences in school off-putting or inaccessible. Shakespeare wrote his plays for performance and when his plays are treated as living, breathing texts and approached through performance, they become accessible to every learner. The RSC works with 500,000 young people and 2,000 teachers each year, unlocking potential and revolutionising experiences of Shakespeare using its award-winning learning approaches based on the way actors work in rehearsals. It’s an inclusive, creative and joyful approach to learning that improves children’s writing and language skills and fosters core skills like communication, critical-thinking, collaboration and confidence. Join us for a taste of the work in action and to hear first-hand from teachers who have used the approach and experienced extraordinary results.
