AI has been sold as a solution for teacher workload, but global evidence tells a more complex story. Across the world, early adopters report that hours saved through automation are often reabsorbed as in different forms. This session challenges the “AI time-saver” narrative, separating myth from measurable impact. Drawing on international case studies, alongside insights from RGS Worcester’s pioneering AI strategy, it unpacks where AI genuinely returns time to teaching and where the dividend disappears into oversight and expectation. Attendees will leave with a grounded understanding of what AI really delivers, and how to translate that insight into meaningful gains for their schools.
