Sustaining Higher Education: Strategies for resilience and adaptation in Ukraine's wartime context
Ukraine’s Higher Education system has faced unprecedented disruption, yet it continues to educate, innovate, and prepare future generations. In this keynote, Dr Yevhen Kudriavets, First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, explores how universities have adapted to the realities of war while maintaining academic quality and institutional integrity.
Drawing on national-level leadership and international experience, Dr Kudriavets will examine the rapid expansion of digital and blended learning, governance and quality assurance under crisis conditions, and the critical role of international partnerships in sustaining Higher Education and supporting long-term recovery. The session will highlight how education diplomacy and European integration are shaping Ukraine’s education reforms and strengthening human capital despite ongoing conflict.
This keynote offers valuable insights for policymakers, institutional leaders, and global education partners seeking to understand how Higher Education systems can remain resilient, adaptive, and forward-looking in times of prolonged crisis.
