Mapping your school’s digital ecosystem: EdTech lessons from 200+ Educators
This session is aimed at school leaders, EdTech coordinators, and educators who want to move beyond a "shopping list" mentality to understand schools as complex, biological digital ecosystems. Based on Unique PhD research and qualitative data science study involving over 200 educators, the session provides a framework for EdTech that works by focusing on the invisible "people" elements: pedagogy, culture, and ethics which drive 66% of success. Attendees will learn to apply the DRIVE model to assess infrastructure and pedagogical readiness before procurement. Key learning objectives include mastering the 1:9 rule for training budgets and the platform unity principle to stabilise school environments. Participants will benefit from evidence-based strategies to reduce teacher workload and ensure technology serves a clear learning need rather than becoming mere shelf decoration.
