This session shares insights from a research project led by Julie Carson of Woodland Academy Trust and Mark Anderson, ICT Evangelist, exploring how AI tools are being used to support lesson planning across five primary schools. Concluding in September 2025, the project investigates the impact of AI on teacher workload, lesson quality, inclusivity, and pupil engagement. As part of the session you will be able to explore some of the tools used, reflecting on how this integrated approach to innovation has helped ensure that AI supports every learner, particularly those with additional needs, while also enhancing professional agency and wellbeing for teachers. This work sits within the Trust’s wider commitment to digital innovation and inclusive education, and aligns with its ambition to lead the sector in purposeful, ethical AI use. Pursued as part of a broader strategy to embed Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and reduce teacher workload through digital transformation, the project has also contributed to external accreditation and recognition, including national award nominations.
