The future of immersive and embedded learning
Research thrives where progress meets purpose, where fast-moving technology is balanced with the need for real impact. This is not easy: great advances demand bold vision, lasting drive, and ample resources.
The immersive and embedded learning research frontier — research about learning with XR — is difficult to grasp, even more so when trying to look ahead to what the next 5-10 years might bring.
Professor Wild reports on findings from two Delphi studies, one on EdTech at large, the other on immersive learning, sharing a speculative, but expert-informed outlook of what research over the next decade might achieve.
This session will be illustrated by current examples of XR educational technology in early stages of development (proof of concept lab prototypes, feasibility studies, outline pedagogies).
